The same computer, none of the installation
Open a browser on the shop computer and log in. There is nothing to install, no licence key to keep safe, no dealer visit for an update, and nothing that breaks when Windows updates itself. It works on an old machine because the work happens on the server rather than on your hardware, which for a lot of shops means a computer that had become too slow for their old billing package is perfectly fine again.
What installed software costs you beyond the price
The purchase price is rarely the real cost. There is the annual maintenance charge, the visit fee when something goes wrong, the version upgrade that is a fresh licence, and the fact that support depends on one local dealer who may or may not still be in business. Underneath all of it is the single point of failure: your entire trading history on one machine at the counter, backed up only when somebody remembers.
Keyboard driven, because a counter is
Nobody bills at speed with a mouse. Item search, quantity entry and save all work from the keyboard, and a USB barcode scanner types straight into the billing screen. A4 invoices print to any ordinary printer, and thermal receipts print over USB. The point is that moving off installed software should not make your counter slower, and in practice it usually does not.
And the offline objection
The honest limitation of a browser-based system is that it needs a connection, which in much of India is not guaranteed. That is what the Android app is for: bills, receipts and deliveries recorded offline and synced when coverage returns. Most shops run the computer as the main counter and keep the app as the fallback, which covers both the outage and the day somebody has to bill from the godown.
Migrating off an installed package
Shops stay on desktop software long past the point it stopped serving them because moving looks like a project. It is not. You need three things out of the old system: the item list, the party list, and each party's current outstanding balance. Export them, or send us whatever you have — a Tally export, a spreadsheet, even photographs of the register — and our team brings them in during setup. Old bills stay in the old system for reference; you do not migrate history, you start from today's correct balances. The realistic timeline is one afternoon, and most shops bill on the same day.
