Steel sizes, rates and conversions
The item list here is mostly TMT and sections by size, each with its own rate updated each morning and its own stock. Set the ton-to-kilo conversion on every one so buying and selling stay consistent. Freight belongs on its own line from the first despatch, since truckload delivery across long distances is the normal case.
One of India's densest rolling-mill belts
The Raipur belt, running out through Urla and Siltara, produces and trades a very large share of central India's TMT and structural steel. A dealer here quotes a per-kilo rate that moved this morning, sells in tons, holds stock across a dozen sizes and despatches by the truckload.
Everything in this trade is arithmetic
Buying in tons, selling in kilos, stocking by size, quoting a rate that changes daily — every step is a calculation, and every calculation on a paper bill is a chance to be wrong in the customer's favour. Holding the unit and conversion on the item removes it, and updating the rate once each morning means whoever is billing quotes what you decided.
Truckload despatch and freight
Loads leave on hired vehicles over long distances, so the transport is a substantial part of what the customer pays and it changes with the destination. Material and freight on separate lines make your rate comparable and your delivery cost visible, and where the value crosses the e-way bill threshold the figures the portal wants are already on the invoice.
Setup over a call
Thirty minutes covers your details, sizes as separate items with their own rates, parties with opening balances and the bill format. Support afterwards is Hindi on phone and WhatsApp, and the app lets a supervisor bill from the godown rather than the counter.
