What to have ready when you call

If the shop is already registered with us, keep the mobile number you signed up with to hand — that is how your account is found, and it saves a few minutes at the start of the call. If something is not working, a screenshot of the screen you were on, with the error visible, usually gets it sorted in the first reply. For a billing or payment question, the invoice or receipt number is enough.

If you have not signed up yet, nothing is needed. Tell us the kind of shop you run — hardware, cement and steel, tiles and sanitaryware, paint, timber, or general building material — roughly how many bills you raise in a month, and whether you keep sales on credit. That is enough for us to tell you honestly whether MaterialBill fits, and which plan you would actually need.

Setup and data import

Moving from a paper bill book, an Excel sheet or Tally does not have to be done by hand. Send us your item list and party list in whatever form you have them — an Excel file, a Tally export, or even photographs of the register — and we will bring them in for you. Opening balances for credit parties can be imported the same way, so your outstanding figures are correct from day one rather than starting at zero.

In Patna and Kolkata a member of our team can come to your shop and do the setup on site, at no charge. Everywhere else it is done over a call and screen share, which takes about the same time. Either way you finish the session with your items, your parties, your GST details and your bill format already in place.

Support hours and response times

Phone and WhatsApp are answered Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm, in Hindi or English. Messages sent outside those hours are picked up the next working morning. Email is answered within 24 hours on working days. If your billing has actually stopped — you cannot raise an invoice at all — say so in the first line of your message and it is treated as urgent rather than joining the queue.

We are a company, not a reseller: MaterialBill is built and run by Givni Private Limited, so the person who answers can usually fix the problem rather than pass it on. Our terms of service, privacy policy and refund policy set out what you can expect from us in writing.
